It is helpful to know if you have a Carer (someone who takes on an unpaid caring role) or if you are a Carer for someone else. We have a page dedicated to Carers where you can also register with us as a carer so we can provide you with additional support.

Asthma, Diabetes & Hypertension Clinic
Monday to Friday – By appointment.
Cervical Smear Clinic
Monday to Friday – By appointment.
Check-ups for the Elderly
Monday to Friday – By appointment.
We offer annual health checks for patients of 75 and over. These are carried out by a practice nurse or by a doctor. A district nurse can also perform these health checks for those who are unable to attend surgery.
Child Health Surveillance
Tuesday 2.00pm to 4.00pm – By appointment and in conjunction with the Health Visitors.
Child Immunisation Clinic
Tuesday afternoons – By appointment. Arranged by computer recall from the surgery.
Cryosurgery (treatment for warts)
Monday to Friday – By appointment.
Dietician
Wednesday Afternoons - By appointment with a Doctor's Referral.
Family Planning
We offer the full range of contraceptive services.
Monday to Friday – By appointment with a Practice Nurse.
Minor Surgery
These clinics are for minor surgical procedures including treatments for skin lesions and verrucas. We also offer a variety of steroid injections within normal appointments if assessed appropriate first by a doctor.
Monday to Friday – By appointment. A double appointment is required.
Mother & Baby Clinic
Monday to Friday – By appointment.
Nursing Services
Our nurses have their own surgeries and provide a range of specialist medical clinics. They also carry out the following:
- Assist both the practice GPs and visiting surgeons in conducting minor surgical procedures, including a weekly vasectomy clinic.
- Cervical smear services.
- Reviews of medication for asthma, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and stroke.
- Provide advice for family planning, carry out minor treatments, change dressings and give immunisations and vaccinations.
- Provide advice and guidance to patients on travel, diet, smoking, stress management and general health care.
- Decontamination & Infection Control.
Phlebotomist (Blood Tests)
Physiotherapist
A weekly physiotherapist clinic is provided for patients with musculo-skeletal problems. This clinic provides for first referral and follow-up consultations. It is well used and popular among the patients who have needed its services.
The clinics are held on Tuesday Afternoons and are by appointment with a Doctor's Referral.
Private Non-NHS Work
Medical Examinations (Non-NHS)
Certain services provided by the Doctors are not covered by the NHS and fees are payable for such items as:
- HGV & PSV licences
- Elderly driver licences
- Insurance
- Pre-employment medicals
- Private certificates
- Holiday vaccinations
- Insurance claims
- Fitness for sports
Charges are payable at the time of attendance, and the BMA recommended scale of fees is on display at the reception desk. For further information please see Why do GP’s charge?
Medical Certificates
Self-certificates are available from your employer for sickness of up to one week. Any certificate required from the Doctor for periods up to the first week can only be provided as a private certificate for which there is a charge.
Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor
Thinking about Stopping Smoking?
A Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor will be available at the practice on Wednesdays between 3pm and 6pm(last new appointment 5.30pm).
If you would like to quit smoking and think you would benefit by attending a one to one session with our Specialist Advisor then please book in at reception.
In addition please complete our Smoking Status Questionnaire.
Travel Health & Immunisations
Our practice nurses offer a comprehensive advice and vaccination service for traveling abroad. Further information including access to our online travel forms can be found here.
Some travel vaccinations are not available on the NHS but can be provided. Charges are available from reception.
Vasectomies
This weekly clinic provides vasectomy procedures for residents of Harlow.
