    General Information

    If booking by telephone, the lines are open from 8am. For all other queries, please phone after 10am wherever possible to avoid peak times.

    For Doctor Appointments: If it is not required the same day or urgent, an appointment on an alternative day eases the pressures on Doctor availability. This ensures fairness to other patients who do need a same day or urgent appointment.

    It is not always possible to see the Doctor of your choice, although every effort is made to meet the patient's requirements.

    Forward appointments can be booked 7 calendar days ahead, subject to availability.

    Urgent Problems

    We have daily appointments for urgent problems which need to be dealt with on the same day. These appointments are for single problems only.

    All requests for urgent appointments are given priority and are subject to initial telephone triage by a GP. Our phone lines are open from 8am - 9.00am for 'urgent' appointments only. We would respectfully ask that patients request 'routine' appointments from 9.00am onwards.

    If a genuine 'emergency' arises at any time during our opening hours, you are free to contact the surgery for further advice.

    Weekend & Evening GP Service

    Patients can see a GP, nurse or healthcare assistant for routine appointments in the evenings and over the weekends.  Find out more about this service here.

    If you anticipate that you may require an examination by the Doctor and feel that you would like a chaperone to be present, please make reception aware at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged. Alternatively bring along a member of your family or friend to your appointment.

    Cancelling an Appointment

    If you are unable to attend for your appointment we expect at least 24 hours notice, except in extreme cases, so that we are able to offer another patient the use of that appointment.

    We have a STRICT policy for patients who regularly miss their appointments which may ultimately result in the removal of them/their family from the practice list.

    If you cannot keep your appointment with the Doctor or Nurse, please let Reception know in good time:

    5. In Person: Call into the surgery and let the receptionist know in person.

    We can offer your appointment to someone else and therefore help to reduce waiting times.
